News: Domestic Supervisor

Job Role/Purpose:

The ideal candidate will supervise domestic assistants on a day-to-day basis to ensure all MMP sites are cleaned to the correct standards; organise rotas to ensure appropriate cover is provided.
Responsible for line managing domestic assistants and ensuring all aspects of HR cycle are complete; ensuring the Domestic team are fully trained in all areas of their role.

2. Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To provide cleaning expertise in regards to infection prevention control, methodologies, products and equipment for all aspects of healthcare cleanliness
  • Supervise cleaning staff on a day to day basis ensuring sites are cleaned to the correct standards
  • Organise rotas to ensure appropriate cover is provided
  • Responsible for planning and leading the deep clean programme for all sites
  • Provide training to staff in all areas required to carry out duties
  • Proactively support the monitoring of standards across all areas of responsibility.
  • Prioritize workload and provide a proactive service to the sites ensuring high standards are met
  • To comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
  • To ensure all staff are fully trained and conversant with fire regulations and health and safety and understand what to do in an emergency.
  • Work within the Clinical Governance Framework, incorporating Risk Management and all the other quality initiatives and all aspects of CQC implementation
  • Support HR to maintain mandatory and non mandatory training records ensuring staff are informed and attend relevant sessions as required
  • Take responsibility for stock management, ensuring adequate supply is available
  • Support the management team in staff development and performance reviews.
  • Undertake regular cleanliness audits
  • Undertake administration duties for non-clinical supplies, ordering and receipting of cleaning materials and equipment. Ensure stock levels are monitored and do not exceed agreed levels
  • Support the organisation in achieving financial balance by ensuring planning and organisation of staff cover is provided from staff available, within financial limits.
  • Provide initial and ongoing training for domestic assistants as required
  • Undertake staff appraisals
  • Monitor the performance of staff to ensure that the NHS standards of cleanliness and the satisfaction of the service users are achieved

  • To ensure you are fully trained and conversant with fire regulations and health and safety and understand what to do in an emergency.

  • To maintain confidentiality of information relating to patients, clients, staff and other users of the services in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 including outside of the work environment. Any breach of confidentiality may render an individual liable for dismissal and/or prosecution.

Safeguarding

  • Whilst in post, Staff are expected to acquire and update their knowledge on safeguarding as per the Intercollegiate document requirements and MMP policies.

General

  • To undertake any other duties commensurate with the role, within the bounds of his/her own competence as guided by the attached management framework.
  • Covering core working hours for MMP which may extend in line with future NHS policies.
  • In light of national policy and due the needs of the business it may be necessary for the Partnership to alter the opening hours of the surgeries. This could incorporate different opening hours and weekend working which may affect when you are required to work. The post holder is expected to be flexible and accommodating, following consultation, in terms of any changes to operating times in the future.
