News: Domestic Assistant (x3)

The ideal candidate will provide a high quality domestic service to MMP Sites, maintaining a clean and safe environment that assists in ensuring a positive patient experience and reflects the values of the organisation.

1. Job Role/Purpose:

  • To provide a high quality domestic service to MMP Sites, maintaining a clean and safe environment that assists in ensuring a positive patient experience and reflects the values of the organisation
  • To adhere to MMPs Health and Safety Policy

2. Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the effective cleaning and maintenance of all hygiene standards within the designated sites
  • Awareness of infection control procedures and carry out relevant training
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Work independently or part of a team
  • Cross cover sites when staff are on annual leave/sick
  • Communicate to the Domestic Supervisor any areas of concern or low in supplies
  • To be responsible for the collection and safe removal of paper and general waste within your areas of work
  • Fully trained and conversant with Fire regulations and health & safety and what to do in an emergency
  • To comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
  • Work within the Clinical Governance Framework, incorporating Risk Management and all the other quality initiatives and all aspects of CQC implementation
  • To provide kitchen duties including clearing of the dining area and washing up as required
  • Responsible for the safe storage and maintenance of appropriate stock and supplies and to ensure that these are available at sites
  • Responsible for ensuring all relevant training is up to date
  • Responsible for engaging in the organisations appraisal process, identifying own personal development and training needs
  • To assist in the introduction of new staff under the guidance and advice of the Domestic Supervisor
  • To undertake any adhoc duties as required by the organisation
  • Knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety

3. Other Responsibilities:

Health and Safety

  • To comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
  • To take responsibility for their own health and safety and that of other persons who may be affected by their own acts or omissions.
  • To ensure you are fully trained and conversant with fire regulations and health and safety and understand what to do in an emergency.

Risk Management and Clinical Governance

  • To work within the Clinical Governance Framework of the practice, incorporating Risk Management and all other quality initiatives and all aspects of CQC implementation.

Confidentiality

  • To maintain confidentiality of information relating to patients, clients, staff and other users of the services in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 including outside of the work environment. Any breach of confidentiality may render an individual liable for dismissal and/or prosecution.

Safeguarding

  • Whilst in post, Staff are expected to acquire and update their knowledge on safeguarding as per the Intercollegiate document requirements and MMP policies.

General

  • To undertake any other duties commensurate with the role, within the bounds of his/her own competence as guided by the attached management framework.
  • Covering core working hours for MMP which may extend in line with future NHS policies.
  • In light of national policy and due the needs of the business it may be necessary for the Partnership to alter the opening hours of the surgeries. This could incorporate different opening hours and weekend working which may affect when you are required to work. The post holder is expected to be flexible and accommodating, following consultation, in terms of any changes to operating times in the future.

Job Types: Part-time – Permanent

Part-time hours: 10 per week (2 hours per day)

Location: All MMP sites
